Pilots practice critical decisions in airplane simulations. Business simulations provide the same opportunity for corporate decision makers.
Just like in real business life, participants get some information, their task is to analyze it, and decide on their way forward – and a plan B. As in real life, different functions need to align. “You should produce what we can sell!” “No, you should sell what we produce!” Heard it before? Work together, decide together, learn together. As in real life, participants cannot control competition. Other teams can attack your position from various directions – price, superior technology, better image or more skilled workforce.
Throughout the simulation, the teams’ performances are debriefed. Both on how they do in the competition, and on how they work as a team, and reach decisions. Accountability and delegation, responsibility and leadership style – all is analyzed and linked back to reality.
